VW 1.9 TD R4 PD engine unused replacement crate engine
New-old stock crate engine that never been run or even in a vehicle. Bought as manufacturer spares from VW after the end of the vehicle’s warranty period.
The exact variant type is 1.9 R4 8v TDI PD ANU (66 kW (90 PS; 89 bhp) at 4,000 rpm; 240 N⋅m (177 lbf⋅ft) at 1,900 rpm). Pretty boring stock but just ask the experts at Darkside Developments what they can do.
Don’t fancy having quite so much fun? Well these engines are incredibly reliable in their stock form and extremely efficient and could be a brilliant upgrade for a T25 or Transporter. Please call us to check compatibility with your vehicle but these engines were put in quite a lot of different models from the VAG group. Suitable for a van conversion or engine replacement. Also commonly marinised and used in boats. There was a marine version of this engine but it’s much lower power so these can be a good upgrade option. We have had these engines stored at our warehouse for circa 20 years and they will require service items and a thorough service and check-over before use.
This is a 66kw (89bhp) variant of the 1.9 R4 8v turbo diesel engine originally destined for a VW Sharan.
This engine is NOT ULEZ compliant unfortunately unless installed in an historic vehicle.
